As February begins, I want to take a moment to recognize how this year started. In January, we set aside our regular content to prioritize supporting schools, venues and communities affected by the LA wildfires.
Many of us are now deeply engaged in recovery efforts, which will lead into debriefs, lessons learned, and will help inform how we think about our continued work. While recovery is still underway, we’re refocusing on proactive insights — sharing content aimed at helping venues across the country strengthen their safety and risk management strategies.
At the end of last year, we developed the Event Safety Trends Report — a resource designed to help venue managers and event professionals identify potential risks and implement proactive strategies for emerging threats. Choosing to hold off on sharing this report in January gave us the opportunity to incorporate key insights from our latest response and recovery efforts. Now, we’re excited to share the 2025 trends with you — along with what we’ve already learned from them.
Here’s a look at how we’ve developed this year’s report:
We gathered insights from our on-the-grounds teams, including our EMTs, Safety Consultants, and other leaders within Joffe.
We polled our larger Responder base – partners, Subject Matter experts, and those in the field under the Joffe umbrella – to ensure a well-rounded, inclusive perspective.
We sought input from the industry at large, drawing on reflections and expertise from those leading events every day.
For an overview of our 2025 Trends Report, check our latest blog post, where we highlight our findings based on data and research. We’ll also be diving deeper into these trends on the February 24th episode of The Command Pod, and we hope you’ll join us.
As always, our team is here to provide the resources, training, and guidance needed to navigate these evolving challenges. Whether you’re adapting to new realities or reinforcing your safety protocols, we’re in this together.
This month's blog looks at the trends poised to redefine events in 2025. Drawing on industry insights, emerging best practices, and the challenges of past years, this resource outlines key strategies for event and venue managers aiming to successfully navigate these shifts.

The second portion of the day focused on CPR/First Aid/AED certification and training. Those who completed the workshop earned a two-year certification through the Health & Safety Institute (HSI).
